Third OHV Recreation Program Course offered this fall

Third OHV Recreation Management course offered by Marshall University this fall

The Marshall University Recreation and Park Resources program, in cooperation with the Nick J. Rahall, II Appalachian Transportation Institute and the National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC), has developed a series of four off-highway vehicle courses.  These course are available on-line and for both career professionals as well as current University Students.

 

The first two courses have been offered several times already.  The third course is being offered this fall for the first time.  The third course is:

PLS 452/552
 Construction of OHV Trail Systems: 3 semester hours
     A course designed to instruct students in contemporary methods and techniques of constructing OHV trails and related facilities.
Principal topics will include:

  • Construction Tools and Equipment
  • Preliminary Construction Activities
  • Tread Foundation and Tread
  • Trail Construction in Wet Areas
  • Modifying and Rehabilitating Existing Trails

The first course, PLS 450/550 - Introduction to Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation, is also being offered this fall.

 

To attend either of the courses, you must enroll in Marshall University or arrange with the University to attend the course and to transfer the credits to your current University.  Go to the Marshall Administration webpage to enroll
